The Weight of Glory

Nov 30, 2025    Carl Trost

The Christian Faith has roots. What we believe has been preached and taught for almost 2000 years now. We stand today on the shoulders of the faithful who came before us. In this series we bring back sermons once delivered by men who were used by God in mighty ways. This time it is a sermon once delivered by C.S. Lewis who was arguably the greatest Christian Apologist of the 20th century. This sermon was later included in a book which takes its name from this sermon, "The Weight of Glory". While this address is great to read, it takes on a new life when it is delivered as it was originally, verbally. In this sermon Lewis goes deep into the human psyche to show us that our deepest desire is to be known by God. And by the time he is done he has shown us a completely different way to view ourselves and each other.
