What God Has Joined Together

Jesus is confronted with a question. Is it lawful to divorce your wife for any reason? This was not a legitimate question. The people asking it are just out to trap Jesus into saying something by which they can make Him look bad before the people. But Jesus turns it into a multilayered teaching moment. What is God's heart concerning marriage and divorce. Jesus tells us in this passage. With 40 to 50% of first marriages ending in divorce and subsequent marriages fairing even worse, even within the church, this is a difficult but very important teaching to hear.
