The Herald of The Messiah

God foretold that the coming of the Messiah would be proceeded by a Herald who would prepare the people for His arrival. John The Baptizer was from his conception the man chosen to fulfill that prophesy and usher in the Messiah. John is a seriously important figure in the Gospels. So, we are going to do a deep dive into who he was and why he was sent over two weeks. This week we look at the man himself, and his purpose in the Gospel narrative. Next week we will examine the message he was sent to deliver.
