Ugly On The Inside

Last week we saw Jesus having dinner with some Pharisees and lawyers (Scribes). Things turned a bit ugly after the host got indignant over Jesus not ritually washing His hands before the meal. Now Jesus is back with His followers, and He wants to call out the sin of those He was just with and warn these followers against it by giving it a name. It is called Hypocrisy. They were pretending to be lovers of God when in truth they are just lovers of themselves.
