I Tell You The Truth

Jesus is still in Jerusalem for the Feast of Tabernacles Observance. He has been contending with the religious leaders. But now he turns to address those who believe in Him. What follows is a very odd conversation. People have this tendency to think much more of themselves and overestimate their condition in almost all situations. That tendency is on full display in this conversation. The people think that somehow their heritage puts them in a good place with God. Jesus masterfully sets the record straight as to what actually matters to God and what it takes to know Him. And what we find in this is a message for all of us.
