Whom do You Say I Am?

Our Hero is still on the move. He is heading North in the region of Gaulanitis. He is headed to mount Hermon where one of the most awesome events of His ministry will take place. But along the way there is a stop in Bethsaida and another just outside of Casarea Philipi. The stop in Bethsaida is for a divine appointment where Jesus heals a blind man. The miracle seems to be a one-off thing but when you look just a little deeper you see the deeper spiritual truth it serves to illustrate. During the stop outside of Casarea Philipi Jesus asks His disciples the question of the ages. "Who do you say I Am?". How you answer that question determines your eternal destiny. What is often overlooked is the geographic backdrop against which this question is asked. It adds an incredible layer of depth and urgency to the question. If you haven't heard about this, you are really missing out.
