A Taxing Issue

Our brother Peter is confronted by a tax collector who wants to know if Jesus honors the temple of God by paying the yearly temple tax. We assume he asks this because Jesus hasn't paid it. Jesus agrees to pay the tax so as not offend anyone. The way Jesus provides the money Peter needed to cover it is rather odd to say the least. This seems like a minor issue, and when looked from a wide-angle lens, the miracle of the money in the fish's mouth wouldn't come close to cracking the top ten of Jesus wrought miracles. But is this a minor thing? No, it is actually a pretty big thing. There is really a whole lot more going on here then you can see on the surface.
